Polyimide (PI) is a polymer material with excellent high and low-temperature resistance, good mechanical strength, and ductility, as well as outstanding comprehensive performance. It can significantly improve the temperature resistance of optical fiber coatings, prolong the service life of fibers in high-temperature environments, and maintain good mechanical properties without becoming brittle in low-temperature environments. Moreover, Polyimide is non-toxic, stable, and biocompatible, making it suitable for manufacturing tableware and some medical consumables alternatives. Additionally, Polyimide can resist almost all organic solvents, some inorganic acids, and hydrolysis.
